I’ve been hanging out on the boat all day today. Just so nice to sit and not do anything one day. There’s a story here on Saint Michaels about the British coming to capture Saint Michaels. So the towns people heard about this and decided they need to do something about it. What they did, was hung lanterns on the highest trees, and the highest masts of their sail boats. This confused the British and they shot their cannon balls high, because they thought the city was on the top of a high hill. Consequences was they overshot the town. That’s really all I know about the story but I thought it was interesting. Yesterday we rode our bikes to.
The Inn at Perry Cabin, beautiful place, reminded me of Tides Inn we stayed at in South Chesapeake. They have several interesting boats that they use for parties of six or more, one was a very beamy sailboat. Very well-maintained, beautifully varnished rails. So I got on it, with the dock hands OK and Captain took pictures. . The Inn has an expansive yard looking out over the bay lined with white Adirondack chairs to relax in. We continued our walking around and found four glass houses with tables that you could have romantic dinners in. They were tucked away in flowering trees and bushes. We were supposed to eat here in the dinning room tonight, but unfortunately, one of the bikes tires is going flat. There is no Uber, no taxis, no way to get around in this town. It’s too far to walk so we’re going up town to Theo’s steak house. I did Nutrisystem’s breakfast and lunch so I’m a bit hungry. This place was the best food we have had on the whole trip. I think that’s because it has my great grandsons name. I did the salmon and Captain had a steak and he hasn’t stopped raving about it. Back to the boat. I have a Liquor made by a gal on her boat that I met here on the Chesapeake in 2019. I have been saving it quite a while. I remember she had given us a shot and then gave me a bottle. It was as good as I remember. Maybe age does make us all better. 😌Good night.
