Today we left at 8:50 AM arrive 10:50 had a two hour run 43 miles. Bumpy out there today on the bay. I stayed downstairs because it sprayed all over the boat and I was much more comfortable sitting on my bed. We have been staying on the west side of Chesapeake Bay.  Today we crossed to the east coast of the bay. Arrived at Onancock Virginia, which is a short distance up a river, very quiet little marina. They gave us a loaner car, a used police vehicle, Captain stepped on it, wow, it had power. I think if I wasn’t there he would’ve taken it out to see what it would really do. Stopped for lunch at a Greek restaurant, best gyro I ever had, I know we’re on the Chesapeake. We’re supposed to have crab but that’s all I’ve been eating. Back at the boat I watched a 56 foot boat back into the slip next to us and it had a loop burge flying. It had a cradle for a dinghy on it, but no dinghy, which made me wonder. It also looks like there was only one person on it. When he was finish tying up, I went over and talked with him. He he is doing the loop and he  is by himself, I was totally amazed. We invited him to have dinner with us, I asked him why he was doing it by himself and he said he couldn’t find anybody to join him. He told us that he didn’t even know the dinghy was gone until he docked. The water was pretty rough out there for him as he left later than we did and had a longer distance to travel. He had side beam waves, the boat being very tall and no stabilizers, gave him a rough ride. Captain left and Tracy and I had a very nice conversation about the loop and why we wanted to do it. The next morning, I invited him to come with us for breakfast, and we agreed to meet up again as we travel the Chesapeake.
